Solanke is leaving Chelsea for lack of first team opportunities. I guessing Sturridge will stay on. Injury to Firmino would leave Origi, Woodburn, Solanke and Ings if his body holds up. Young talent hardly established though.

  2. oggz:

While others a buying established international players who are in the 30+m brackets i.e. Players who will actually make a difference to the team and the bench it looks like we are striking to our policy of buying either players who have potential but are as of yet in- proven
( solanke ) and then we look for the experienced player mmmm who might that be oh yes Clichy who happens to be on a free cone on FSG and Klopp let’s see some ambition

  3. tonystep:

Very underwhelming start to this most important of transfer windows. Just hope we can bring in quality players who can actually strengthen the team and not just the squad

  4. oggz:

The way things are looking at the moment we are going to be shipping in the bargains basements again whilst other teams are shopping in Harrods.
But hey ho it’s early days and I live in hope miracles can happen

  5. Al:

Sick of hearing us linked with Mbappe, no way will Klopp pay that much for a kid.
Aubameyang would a great signing , hope that comes off, as well as a turnaround on Van Dijk.
Slightly off topic, with no CL , how is The arse talking to Lacazette. We failed miserably last season cos of CL Failure, remember Coetze ? What do they have to attract these players ?

  6. jk82:

Al it has nothing to do with CL. City, scum and Chelsea have all attracted top players without it. We won’t sign Mbappe or Aubemeyang because of our owners not because Klopp won’t pay it. Klopp will want the top top players players by for him but our owners are not interested in football. Their only interested in profits and baseball.

  7. oggz:

Too be fair to Arsenal they have been in the champions league almost every season and it could be seen as a 1 off that they aren’t in it this year also they have the attraction of being based in London which is where most foreign players would rather be based.

  8. Al:

Am I missing something, why we after the Ox ?
With Salah on board, and Mane, where would the Ox fit in, surely not a DM ?

  9. mustblfc:

Robertson has arrived from Hull, more or less a swap for Stewart. I am not overwhelmed, Klopp has stated in the past he is happy with Milner at LB, making Robertson the backup.

  10. tonystep:

I’m actually quite pleased with this signing and think he’ll go on to prove a very solid LB who’s also great going forward. I guess I’m hoping we’ve unearthed a new Stevie Nicol, oh I can dream can’t I?? Haha

  11. Al:

I think Robertson will be a good signing, prem experience helps, plus the prices of players in this window is crazy. We were linked with Mendy, he is going for 50m , unfortunately FSG won’t resource a spending spree, Klopp has to budget, he has his targets, Keita and Van Dijk.
I hope we get Keita, latest is they are not budging , and the VVD thing is ludicrous.
One other point, the quote about too costly for Aubameyang, relying on the Studge? Crap,we can all see his plans, Salah, Mane with Firminio (9) up front. Klopp will not drop or substitute Firminio, scored some good goals last year agree, but a finisher he is not.
Studge will be on the bench all season
